Girl's Night Out in Toronto, Omni King Edward Hotel and Spa with the Canadian Opera Company for Culture

The Opera has been one of my top ten things I want to do in Toronto for a while now. I've been a lover of the theater since I saw my first show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on a Mirvish stage in Toronto when I was 13 years old. Going to the theater from Broadway to playhouses is always a fun experience. I felt if I wanted more culture with my theater, going to the Opera would be the next step.

A friend and I decided to spend a full night away in Toronto and enjoy ourselves with Girl time! I like to try new hotels every time I stay the night, there are so many to choose from. We chose Omni King Edward https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/toronto-king-edward for its location, Spa, and history. This hotel is pure decadence. When you walk in you feel transported to luxury, beauty, and finery.

The first stop is the spa, what a calming and blissful space. We both got their signature Majesty's Massage. The relaxing foot bath to start and the scalp massage were blissful extras that made this treatment above the rest.

The selection of treats in the lounge is yummy and Royal!

With our bodies relaxed we went for an early dinner at the Hotels restaurant. The restaurant was a little bit of a surprise. We were expecting fine dining but it was small, cozy, and casual. This was exactly what we were looking for. The pub feel with the bowl of snacks at the table was comforting and delicious.

We were expecting an overpriced menu but were delightfully surprised by the selection and price. I had the All Canadian Burger and was not disappointed.

When planning this trip we decided we would go all out on our outfits. Wanting to make the experience everything it could be. Researching the Canadian Opera Company https://www.coc.ca/ I was happy to see their main message about attire is what you feel comfortable in. There isn't any dress code or expectations. This was evident when we arrived. There were people in jeans and men in Tuxedos. Lots of children at this showing wearing princess dresses to jogging pants.

The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts is a beautiful building that brings the whole evening to life.

Both of us enjoyed the show. For anyone worried you won't understand they put subtitles on the top of the stage to follow along. This was a huge help. I will go again and enjoy other shows done in other languages. I think if you like theater you will like the Opera. It seems Opera gets a bit of a bad name for being stuffy or hard to follow. The COC takes those barriers away and makes everyone feel welcome.

This is the kind of night that leads to drinks at a wine bar, listening to music, and talking the night away. Well, it's two tired moms so it was PJ's and drinks back in the room!!

When you bring these bubbly's and your bed looks this Royal you don't feel bad for leaving the city behind and curling up!

This trip was so much fun. To experience something new with a close friend is what life is about when you get older. I love making the trip to Toronto and still getting surprised by something new. It is a city that has everything!
