Research is part of the Fun!

My goal when planning my next Ontario Adventure is to make sure everyone has fun and the experience is worth sharing. I have a pretty picky family when it comes to what we do with our time. I have a husband and child that does not like being in the car for long stretches. My son is a very picky eater so I never leave the food options to chance. It's easy to see when my child is becoming Hangry and we know it's time to get him fed.

During the planning stage, all these factors will be on my mind. Usually in the Winter when it's too cold to leave the warmth of the couch I will start making a list of places I want to see or do over the spring/summer months. I will start looking through Pinterest then TripAdvisor. I have a board filled with top ideas for places to see in Ontario on my Pinterest page. That's actually where the name of this blog originated the board is called Ontario Adventures. After I choose the location I will try TripAdvisor for top suggestions of food and places to see. Then Google maps to see what we pass on the way. Maybe there is a better way to get to the final destination that sees a great Ontario Landmark! Couldn't pass Wiarton without a stop to see Wiarton Willy.

If you are planning to camp at any Provincial Park during the Peak summer months you really need to book your site on the first day possible. I have had to book sites in Algonquin or Sandbanks as yearly as February or March of the year I am camping in August. It's always paid off though. Haven't missed a camping trip yet! When I do decide which Provincial park I would like to take the family too I also start looking at sites. When the first day I can book starts I have a top 10 list of campsites that would be best for us. Over the last two summers, I have had to keep our puppy Bo in mind as well which added to the fun.

Once it's time for the trip I can sit back and let all my hard work of planning pay off.
